CHALLENGE
Can architects and engineers create an aesthetically pleasing melt water drain path?

SOLUTION
Delta-Therm's unique product, called the Ice Melt Panel, works in concert with roof deicing cables on shingle roofs. The panels are made of aluminum (great heat transfer properties) with a built-in channel to hold the deicing cable and hide it from view. The panels are installed on top of the waterproof membrane and covered by the roof shingles.

RESULT
During the month of February, 2007 the Ice Melt Panel system faced its first tough challenge when Mother Nature dumped over 16 inches of snow on the Chicago area. Despite the hefty accumulation, the panels and cables successfully created a drain path for the roof melt water.
