M.I. Heat Trace Cable
Mineral insulated (M.I.) heat trace cables consists of two copper conductor heating elements embedded in highly compressed magnesium oxide covered by a seamless copper or seamless Alloy 825 stainless steel sheath. The copper sheath is available with an optional high density polyethylene overjacket. Application requirements determine resistance size and sheath materials.
M.I. cable is typically specified for it's durability in extreme high temperature (maintain temperatures up to 1100°F) and corrosive environments. Every finished cable assembly is factory terminated, water submerged, and passes a hypot test before shipping.
M.I. cable is also UL listed and CSA certified for internal tracing of metal pipes.
