Brass I.D. Plaque
The brass embedded heating system marker is required by the 2011 National Electric Code Article 426, Fixed Outdoor Electric Snow Melting and De-Icing Equipment.
Section 426-13 Identification
The presence of outdoor electric de-icing and snow melting equipment shall be evident by the posting of appropriate caution signs or markings where clearly visible.
Cable Strapping
The pre-punched stainless steel or galvanized steel strapping is used to anchor M.I. snow melting cable assemblies at a consistent spacing to the base asphalt pour.
The pre-punched tabs are spaced 1" apart. Each roll is 75' long. To anchor securely use a minimum of 4" long nails.
Insulation Resistance Tester
The 3454 Hioki meter digital megohm tester can be purchased through Delta-Therm.
You can use it to test the M.I. snow melting cable assembly or the snow melt mat for total resistance and insulation resistance per Delta-Therm warranty requirements.

Embedded snow melting systems create a heated surface that melts snow fall upon contact. There are many applications including slabs; stairs, helidecks, bridges, and hanger doors.
