The DTC120-S and DTC120-PS snow melting controls are UL Listed to detect snow or ice and automatically activate and deactivate contactors for your snow melting cables or mats.

how it works

Your snow melting cable or mat is activated when the following three conditions are met: (1) The ambient temperature falls below the set-point of 40°F (4°C) (2) The slab temperature falls below 40°F (4°C) and (3) snow or moisture is present on at least one MS moisture sensor, or on both PS and SS moisture sensors.

Once the above conditions are met, the snow melting system remains activated until the slab temperature reaches 60°F (15°C) or the ambient temperture exceeds 40°F (4°C).

The MPS control is designed to detect snow, ice, or melt water and automatically activate contactors for snow melting cables.

how it works

The MPS control panel continuously monitors conditions at the RG sensor. Once the following two conditions are met the snow melting system is activated. (1) Ambient temperature at the RG thermistor falls below 35°F (2°C) and (2) snow or moisture is present on the RG sensor.

When one of the above two conditions ceases the snow melting system will continue to operate for 5-hours and then shut-off.

optional sensors

You can substitute the RG sensor for an MP slab temperature/moisture sensor. You can install one secondary RGS moisture sensor. When one of the sensors detects moisture the snow melting system is activated.

remote indicator and activation timer

You can install the optional R.I.D. up to 100' from either the DTC or MPS control panel to remotely activate and monitor your roof deicing or snow melting system.
